Smart Notes
A good note-taking system is:
- Simple
- Well thought out
- Helps you to stay focused on what really counts: Reading, Thinking and Writing.
It should not only make it easy to find notes quickly, it should also point out relevant notes when you need them - even if you did not search for them.
Izotope ozone 9 advanced v9 01. It should help you to clarify your thoughts, let you experiment with ideas and spark new ones.
A good system gets exponentially better the more you feed it.
Read more on about the system on Quora here or, with more details, here.
The System
When the German sociologist Niklas Luhmann became a professor, he was asked what his main research project would be. His famous answer: 'My project: theory of society. Duration: 30 years. Costs: zero.'
Twenty-nine and a half years later, he published the last chapter of what is probably the most systematic and comprehensive sociological theory ever written. Top casino site. In these 29 and a half years, he published roughly another 60 books and hundreds of articles on a huge variety of subjects - all of outstanding quality and with no other help than his note-taking system.
And all of it was achieved by writing one smart note at a time.
The Book
This is the step-by-step guide on how to set up and understand the principle behind the note-taking system that enabled Luhmann to become one of the most productive and systematic scholars of all time. But most importantly, it enabled him to do it with ease. He famously said: 'I never force myself to do anything I don't feel like.' Luhmann's system is often misunderstood and rarely well explained (especially in English). This book aims to make this powerful tool accessible to everyone with an interest in reading, thinking and writing. It is especially helpful for students and academics of the social sciences and humanities and nonfiction writers.
The Tools
As the system is really simple, you only need some basic tools - and all of them are free.
- Something to write on (like pen and paper)
- Something to store your references and literature (I recommend Zotero)
- The 'slip-box,' the place to store your permanent notes and develop your thoughts. I recommend the program Zettelkasten by Daniel Lüdecke, but you can also use other programs or even pen and paper.
All you really need is to understand how the system works. And that is what the book is for. Best online roulette casinos.
I often take notes on my Mac, yet I don't really have a specific way of managing or syncing them. Most of the time I would open something really quick such as the Stickies application and just write down the note I had to remember, then set it aside. If you're someone who also takes a lot of notes using your Mac, you might want a simple and straightforward way to manage and sync them. Metanota Pro ($9.99, App Store Link) is just that. For the time being, Simplenote Cloud Service is the only supported provider in Metanota Pro. Other providers will soon follow in its footsteps such as Evernote, iCloud, and Dropbox.
One interesting thing you would imagine is that the developers at Bogdan Farca would launch Metanota Pro with a more well known cloud provider like Gmail or iCloud. Simplenote works just as well though. It only takes a few steps to sign up if you aren't already registered and there's a lot you can use it for, so it doesn't hinder the fact that Metanota Pro is only supported by Simplenote for the time being.
Everything in Metanota Pro is kept synchronized and in its own section including new notes, deleted notes, and tags; so all your content is easy to find no matter where you are. Metanota uses a pretty simple, laid out, and streamlined interface, which makes it a very easy way for any user to work in. Mega samples vol 104 download free. Mostly everything in Metanota Pro is pretty manageable and customizable. You can put notes in certain folders or create a new folder if you have specific notes you would like to manage together and save.
In Metanota Pro you also have the ability to email notes to your default email client, which is the email for which you have set up in OS X, but you can always just change that of course at any time. I tried selecting more than one note to send to my email and I couldn't seem to do that. You have to send it one at a time. It isn't that a big of a deal, but even if you have a lot of notes in any given folder, you would want to send that folder to your email. It would have been nice if there was a way to do this. Given the streamlined interface of Metanota Pro, it's a simple process anyway to send one note at a time, and to sync your notes as well.

There are similar apps out there, but Metanota Pro seems to do the job as quick and as easy, or even more than any other note managing application on OSX. I can't wait until more cloud providers are supported, then it should feel even more seamless of an application. Metanota also features some great auto-formatting.
The first line of your note is automatically used as the header in your list of notes, which shows up after you're done completing your note. Metanota Pro also features a search function, which is helpful if you have a large number of notes. One downside to this is if you forgot which folder a certain note is in, you need to search each folder individually, which may seem like a hassle to some users. Overall, Metanota Pro is a great note taking and sync app for OSX and with even more providers being supported soon, Metanota has plenty to offer no matter how much you use it.
